Have a quick page that is in .png format but have no idea how it works?? You are in the right place!! This is a step by step guide to making quick pages work for you. This tutorial was created using Photoshop CS3, but can pretty easily be applied to earlier versions of Photoshop, as well as Photoshop Elements.
This is the page we will be creating today:
1. When you open your .png quick page, there should be a "checkerboard" background where the photos will go. This is the transparent part of the .png file and it is where you will be sliding your photo it.2. Once you have your quick page open, choose your photo(s) that you would like to include. Be sure that you can both see your quick page and your photo inside Photoshop (as shown below):

3. Choose your "MOVE" tool from the tools menu. (**Note: clicking the letter "V" on your keyboard will also active this tool.)

4. Place your cursor onto your photo and drag it over onto your quick page.

5. Your photo will now be on top of your quick page. Go to your layers palette and place your cursor on your photo layer and drag it down so that it is UNDERNEATH your quick page layer. Your layers palette should not appear as follows:

6. Making sure your "MOVE" tool is selected and your photo layer is selected, place your cursor on the corner of your photo and drag it in or out to resize your photo so that it fits inside the frame. (**Note: Holding down your shift key while resizing your photos will ensure that it maintains the proper proportions.)

7. Repeat this step for each of your photos.
8. Now you are read to type your text. Choose your "TEXT" tool from the tools menu. (**Note: clicking the letter "T" on your keyboard will also activate this tool.)

9. Once your TEXT tool is activated, make sure your quick page layer is selected. Choose your desired font and font size. Then simply click where you would like to type your text and begin typing.

10. Once you have your text in place, this is how your finished product should appear within Photoshop:

11. Last step...save your page!!!
**IMPORTANT TIPS FOR SAVING YOUR PAGE!!**
- Be sure to choose "SAVE AS" instead of "SAVE". This way, the original quick page png file will remain intact so that you can use it again and again!!
- Once you click "SAVE AS", name your page and be sure to save it as a jpeg file. This way you can upload it to shutterfly (or other online photo service vendor) for printing.
- You may also want to save an extra copy as a psd file. This way you will have a copy with all of the layers intact in case you find typos or want to change/add something later.

Hello, just purchase the lark album and i'm stuck on number 6. For some reason I cannot resize the image. Any advice? I'm using photoshop version 10.0.1
Hi rjoann127 -
Make sure you are on your photo layer and do the following:
CTRL+T (or APPLE+T for mac)
A bounding box (like the image for step 6) should appear.
Proceed with directions from step 6.
Hope this helps!
Hello! I love your work! (and your daughter is beautiful!)
I wanted to use the anthurium on your Surfer Girl Quick Page for a album I'm doing on a family vacation to Hawaii.
Will I be able to use just the flower (as a png) or is the whole page locked in one layer?
Can I purchase the flower separately?
Thanks for your help!

I was wondering, if you resize photos by holding shift and pulling the corners in and out, does it keep the full resolution of the photo quality? How does it effect the print out come? I like this method because it's quicker but I don't want to compromise print quality. Please advise. - Teresa
Hi Teresa,
Resizing your photos by pulling the corners in (decreasing the size of the photo) will not compromise the quality of the print. It is not advisable to resize by pulling the corners out (increasing the size of the photo). Doing so may result in blurry and pixelated image.
